Plans To Unseat Dino Melaye Thicken

As preparations to 2019 general elections gather momentum and the politics in kogi takes a new shape in what I call kogi realignment',all may not be well with the senator representing kogi west senatorial district in the Red Chambers,Senator Dino Melaye.

Senator Dino Melaye who has in recent times encountered turbulent times from the media d also from his own state may not find his way back to the Red Chambers if the home work of his would-be successor is perfected.Top on the lists seeking to unseat Melaye include;former Senator Smart Adeyemi and Hon.Sunday Karim amongst others.

Meanwhile,Senator Smart Adeyemi who is in the good books of the state Governor,Yaya Bello and has decamped to the ruling All Progressive Congress with his thousands of supporters, has been pictured in a closed door meeting with the leader of the party,Asiwaju Bola Tinubu in Lagos. The meeting may not be unconnected with the plans ahead of 2019 general elections.

However, interview with some members of his senatorial district revealed that over 60% of the voters may have regretted voting Melaye into the Red Chambers as they have vowed to unseat him in the next general elections. An aged man who does not want his name printed in the media revealed that I see a new senator elected to represent us.'Asked who he saw,he said someone everybody wants who has performed well in the past.'Another man in his early 30's revealed that we even in his town,Aiyetoro, have not benefited anything from him since he was elected how much more the
whole senatorial district .'

Naira values at 390/dollar

It was a huge rise for the Naira as there as it recorded a major gain on Wednesday, closing at 390 per United States dollar at the parallel market, up from 405/dollar on Tuesday. Before closing at 405/dollar on Tuesday, a day after the Easter holidays, the local unit had closed flat at 410/dollar for seven consecutive days. As a result, currency analysts had expressed concerns over the exchange rate resistance to the CBN’s continued dollar supply into the forex market aimed at bridging the gap between parallel and official exchange rates. Last week, some currency analysts predicted the naira would appreciate this week if the central bank sustained its interventions in the market. Some experts, however, expressed doubt that the CBN possessed the s...
